The International Baccalaureate Organisation & Clearwater Bay School

The International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) is a non-profit educational foundation based in Geneva, Switzerland. The IBO was founded in 1968 and has authorized some 3500 schools in 143 countries to teach their three specialist programs which cater for primary, high school and senior high school students.

Clearwater Bay School was authorized as an IB World School to offer the Primary Years Program (PYP) in April 2009. In 2012 the school undertook a joint IBO and Council of International Schools (CIS) evaluation and accreditation process and visit. As a result the school was successfully reauthorized as an IB World School and accredited by CIS. A new five year school plan has been developed to ensure the school continues to build on and extend its successes, through to the next evaluation in 2017.

As an accredited IB World School the Principal, PYP Coordinator and teaching staff are required to undertake IBO training and attend workshops and a range of other professional learning activities to ensure that teaching, learning and curriculum are up to date with current international best practice.
