PTA News

The PTA would like to thank all parents, aunties and children who made delicious offerings and helped run the recent Book and Bake Sale. We raised $12418.50. A marvellous result, and special thanks to Holly Anulphy for organising.

 

PTA Fee Collection
The PTA requests that all families pay the annual PTA fee of $320 per family . An email will be sent soon with PAYPAL advice so you can settle the amount using this method.

 

Events

Next Friday the 4th of May. 6.30-745 pm is Family Bingo Night.  It promises to be another fun family evening. Please bring a dish of nut free food to share. You should have received an email to tell you whether your family can attend. Please ensure you have paid $50 for the event by sending the money clearly labelled with students name and class to the PTA Office.

Friday 18th of May is the next Sausage Sizzle.  Please fill in the google form as soon as you can to order your child’s lunch that day. There will be no meals provided by Tastee Gourmet and the New Luncher that day.

Friday 25th of May is the Year 2 &3 Social. Please can you contact the PTA Office if you can offer to either volunteer or help organise this event.

The PTA be donating some of the unsold donated children’s books from our recent sale towards CWBS celebration of book week. There is information from CWBS Librarian Angela Barwell regarding book week celebrations below.

 

Book Week  7th May – 11th May 2018

THEME: Viewing and presenting

MONDAY 7th May

BILINGUAL WORLD STORY BAZAAR 8.35-9.35AM

To celebrate the students mother tongue within the school, we will be holding the Bi Lingual World Story Bazaar where children and parent volunteers read stories in their mother tongue language and English.  If you would like to join us and read a story in your native language with your child – please contact our Librarian – Angela Barwell email: angela.barwell@cwbs.edu.hk

Y5 & Y6 BATTLE OF THE BOOKS STUDENTS V TEACHERS COMPETITION  HALL . There will be a furious ‘contest’ between the BOB Club students who have read selected books and have to test their knowledge and do battle to achieve supremacy over the teachers.  Y4-Y6 will be watching the contest.

THURSDAY 10th May

HEIFER READ TO FEED DROP EVERYTHING AND READ 8.35am

Children will be reading for 20 minutes at school for the charity Heifer Int HK.

SCHOOL BOOK SWAP 9.00am-2.30pm

This year we will be thinking of our environment –  reusing, recycling.

Students will be choosing from donated books

FRIDAY 11th May

BOOK CHARACTER DRESS UP PARADE 8.35am PLAYGROUND

Year 6 – Year 1         8.40am – 8.55am

Year 4 – Year 2         9.00am – 9.15am

Year 5 – Year 3         9.20am – 9.35am

Over the last couple of weeks, children have been asked to think about a book character and find either clothes and/or props to reflect the character of the book.  All children will be in the parade.

Lost Property

Plenty of lost items in the white bins outside the PTA Office already. The PTA office sells laundry markers at $11 each to help make sure your children can be reunited easily with lost items of uniform.

PTA Shop.

The PTA sells a variety of items, including stationery, lined white boards for handwriting practice, recorders, hair ties, second hand uniform, tennis balls, mosquito repellent, second hand books and DVDs. We also stock cards and wrapping paper.
