Staff Appreciation Lunch

A big thank you to Emma Linnitt for organising the lunch again and to Olivia Morley, Karen Gibson and Amy Shroff for helping her. In addition, thank you to all the parents who kindly donated a dish on the day itself. The teachers and support staff had a delicious lunch, it is a great way to say thank you to them for all their hard work. If you donated some food please remember to call into the PTA office on Monday and collect your dish or container.

Christmas Carol Concert

We hope you enjoyed the Christmas carol concert on Tuesday. Thank you to all those who helped-out preparing and serving the drinks and snacks. We had a very generous donation of mince pies, hot chocolate, milk and cookies from ParknShop for this event. We raised $7000 for Operation Santa Claus. This is an annual charity campaign, which aims to support the needy in Hong Kong and beyond, inspiring hope, and funding life-enhancing transformations through different projects.

PTA News

Nicky Anderson will sadly be leaving the PTA office this term. We would like to say a huge thank you to Nicky for all her support over the last year and a half, she will be missed and we wish her all the best for the future. We are delighted that Kerensa Heywood, who has been working with the PTA for several years, will be able to take over Nicky’s role in the PTA office.Apologies for the delay getting membership cards to you. We are waiting on a few final details and should have these to you early next term. In the meantime, if your company would like to offer a discount to CWBS parents then there are still one or two spots available – please contact the PTA office.

School Buses

If your child goes on a bus, please talk to them before the start of term about the rules and expectations for whilst they are on the bus. Please encourage them to behave in a respectful way and listen to the bus staff. Support the bus staff by reminding your children to remain seated and wear their seatbelt at all times for their safety.  Please also remember to inform bus staff if your child is sick or will not be on the bus for any reason and write a note in the school diary for any changes to going home arrangements.

Lost Property

There is a lot of lost property, including many unnamed water bottles and snack boxes. On Tuesday anything unclaimed and unnamed will be recycled. If your child has lost something, please ask them to carefully check the white boxes and unnamed items by the PTA office on MONDAY 12 December. Please review all items of clothing, lunch boxes, snack boxes and water bottles over the holidays and renew the labels before returning to school in January. If you purchase second hand uniform, make sure the name of the previous owner is properly removed. Properly labelled items are sorted and returned to the classes. Please explain to your children that they should not borrow items from the lost property boxes as this causes problems for the owner when they come to look for their items.

Books

There are a few remaining boxes of second hand books if anyone is able to take and donate these please contact the PTA office.

PTA & Uniform Shop Opening Hours

Next term the PTA office will open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:15am – 2:45pm and will be closed on Wednesdays. The uniform shop opens on Mondays from 8am – 4pm.  Parents are always welcome in the PTA Office, we have stationery items and second hand uniform for sale and tea and coffee, so please pop in anytime you are in school.
