We hope your children enjoyed the Sausage Sizzle last week and a big thank you to all those parents who volunteered their time to BBQ, pack and serve 683 hotdogs and veggie burgers! The Sizzle raised over $7000, which will be used for the school and future PTA events.
The Year 5 and 6 Rock and Pop Disco takes place tonight and with a DJ, some games and the pizza dinner it promises to be a lot of fun. Please remember your child needs to have been registered on the google form to attend.
You should have received an email about signing up for the upcoming Bingo Evening. This family event is always over-subscribed so next week the PTA office will be letting you know if you have been offered a place.
The PTA General Meeting is coming up on the 13 March 2017 and will be held in the multi-purpose room on the first floor at Clearwater Bay School. This is a short meeting, during which new PTA committee members can be voted onto the committee. The meeting is scheduled for 6:30pm to allow time for parents to get to school after work, refreshments will be served and we encourage all parents to attend. We need a quorum of parents present in order to make any decisions and it would be fantastic to have your involvement. There are a few places available for any parents wishing to join the PTA committee and we are seeking a new Vice Chairperson for Term 3 – if you are interested then please contact the PTA office. If you wish to nominate a committee member or vice chairperson then please fill in the nomination form and return it to the PTA office by the 6 March. Please note that this newsletter serves as notification of the General Meeting. If you wish to have an item considered for the meeting agenda, please submit it in writing to the Chairman of the PTA via email to the PTA office no later than close of business on 6th March.
This week we sorted through the over-flowing lost property boxes and returned named items. Thank you to Leanne Tsang for her help with this. Unfortunately, we are left with numerous unlabelled or incorrectly labelled items. The photograph shows just the unnamed lost property! If you are missing an unlabelled item please ask your child to look for it now as we cannot return unnamed items and will be recycling them.
Please check all items that your child(ren) wears or brings to school and make sure they are clearly labelled with name and class, and that your child knows where to find the name label. Please talk to your child(ren) about taking care of their belongings and ask them to check their bag each afternoon to ensure that they have brought everything home, if not they can look in the lost property boxes the following day. Explain to your child(ren) that they should not borrow from the lost property boxes as this causes problems for the owner when they come to look for their items.
A reminder that the PTA office will be closed on Wednesdays but open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:15am – 2:45pm.

Tastee Gourmet Hot Lunches
If your child has hot lunches from Tastee, please ensure that they are happy with the food that is ordered for them. We have had a few cases where children have taken someone else’s lunch because they did not like the meal ordered for them! This then causes problems for the child whose lunch has been taken by someone else.
The PTA sells a variety of items, including stationery, lined white boards for handwriting practice, recorders, hair ties, second hand uniform, tennis balls, mosquito repellent, second hand uniform and second hand books and DVDs. We also stock cards and wrapping paper.
We’re accepting any second hand books or DVDs you’d like to donate, please drop them off at the PTA office.
