Fundraising – Jalen Yau

As you may be aware CWBS is fundraising via the PTA office to help support the Yau family after last week’s tragic event. QBE Insurance Asia Pacific Foundation generously offered to match any funds raised (up to a maximum of HK$100,000) for the family of Jalen Yau. You can make your donation at the PTA Office where there is a collection box. The collection box will be available until 3:15pm on Friday 21 April. With heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family from the PTA Committee.

Events in April & May

21 April – Pop-up Sale and Coffee Afternoon, 1 – 3:15pm – Following the success of last Friday’s sale we will be having another pop up sale outside the PTA office. Bring cash – there will be loads of bargains! Thank you to Funville who kindly donated the toys for sale. Volunteers needed, so let the PTA know if you can help.

12 May – Year 3 & 4 Social, 6 – 7:30pm – Note we have changed the date of this social.

If you would like to be on the organising committee for the social please contact the PTA office. Please use the link below to register your child, then send in payment at the beginning of next term: https://goo.gl/forms/h5ECHebhzZIP5rWq2

School Fair

Thank you to the two parents who have come forward to offer their support for the Fair organisation. We need more volunteers and would like to have the organising committee in place early next term so that the theme can be chosen and planning can commence. If you are able to help or have any questions then please get in touch with the PTA office. It’s a lot of fun and need not be a lot of work! We can provide details of requirements and assistance/guidelines for planning. The date of the fair is Saturday 4 November 2017.

Fruity Friday

A reminder that in support of the school’s Healthy Eating Policy we are trying to make every Friday a Fruity Friday and we encourage you to arrange a fruit or vegetable snack each Friday for your child(ren).

Tastee Gourmet Hot Lunches

Tastee would like to remind everyone of the deadline for ordering hot lunches. A large number of orders have been coming in long after the deadline, which creates additional work as Tastee has to adjust their orders with suppliers. The order form is available on the school website for you to download. If you wish to order lunches for May please ensure Tastee receives the form no later than 20 April.

Tastee order forms can be sent in the school diary or dropped directly at the PTA office. If you have an older child (years 5 & 6) please remind them to hand their order form in as these year groups do not have an EA on duty every day to assist.

Lost Property

A big thank you to the parents who sorted through the large amount of lost property. All lost property that is labelled has been returned and remaining unlabelled items will now be recycled or sold. Please take a little time over the holiday to check all items that come to school: ensure everything is clearly labelled with your child’s name and class and check that labels are still in place and easy to read. The PTA office sells laundry markers at $11 each; these can also be bought in many stationery shops. If you wish to purchase iron-on or stick-on labels Blank Sheet offers a 30% discount to CWBS families. www.blanksheet.com.hk

PTA Shop

The PTA sells a variety of items, including stationery, lined white boards for handwriting practice, recorders, hair ties, second hand uniform, tennis balls, mosquito repellent, second hand uniform and second hand books and DVDs. We also stock cards and wrapping paper.

The PTA wish you and your children an enjoyable and restful Spring Holiday.
