PTA News

The Sausage Sizzle today was a success with lots of help from the parents who kindly volunteered to BBQ and deliver sausages and burgers to all classrooms. A huge thank you for your support on this! We will let you know how much money we raised once the accounts have been finalised.

We are still in the process of setting up the online payment for the annual PTA fees and will inform everyone when invoices have been prepared. It is compulsory for all parents to be a member of the PTA and the fee is per family. If there is anyone who can help us in setting this up, please contact the PTA.

Many are inquiring about the New Luncher, which offers good quality ingredients, organic where possible and work with nutritionists and a Michelin starred chef to produce healthy food that children will want to eat. They are hoping to offer these meals in October. More details will follow soon once the New Luncher has finalised arrangements.

Five of our students are promoting the stationary drive for a school in Cambodia through the Missione Possibile. Please help support this wonderful cause by donating the required items such as erasers, sharpeners, 30cm rulers, blue and red pens as per year group. Please find attached file regarding this charity drive.

Missione Possibile – Stationery drive

Children helping children

This October, 5 students from CWBS will be going to Cambodia to work in the Missione Possibile Primary School that has been set up there. These students are organising a stationery drive to help make sure that the school has all the resources it needs to start their school year.

We would like to collect the following items from each year band:

Years 1 and 2Erasers and sharpeners
Years 3 and 4Rulers – 30cm
Years 5 and 6Blue and Red pens

Please note that we are looking for brand new, standard items which are practical and cost effective rather than fancy branded items with characters eg. Smiggle, Star Wars, Lego, Typo etc

The collection boxes will be located in the school office area and the deadline for collection is Tuesday 26 September.  Please donate as many items as you can to help resource the school.

Thank you very much for your support.

Mikah 4W, Elissa 5B, Charlotte 6R, Dhani 6R and Kyra 6J

Finally, Ms. Menzie Dacuycuy, our long-standing EA, has asked us to pass on her message below:

“Agos, Anna may and I would like to express our sincerest gratitude for all your love, kindness and support to our family during this difficult time in our lives. We greatly appreciate.”

Sincerely yours,

Mrs Menzi

Book & Bake Sale

Following the success of the book sales at the end of last term, we will be running a couple of Book Sales / Bake Sales this year. The first one will be held on Friday, 22 September from 1-3 pm at the undercover playground in front of the PTA office. Please donate your second hand books, especially children’s books for ages 5-11 years old and whole cakes, cupcakes, brownies, baked savouries and cookies or healthy options like nut-free snack bars. If you cannot attend, please send in money with your children if they wish to purchase items before going home. Books will be $10 each and cakes will be reasonably priced!  We will need volunteers to help on the day so please contact the PTA if you are available.  If you wish to donate cakes for sale please let the PTA know so that we can ensure we don’t have too few or too many!

Money raised will go towards our fundraising for new playground equipment.

PTA Annual General Meeting (AGM)

All parents are encouraged to attend the AGM on Tuesday 19 September at 6:30 pm. The meeting will be held in the Multipurpose Room located on the first floor across from the staff room. Give support to the PTA agenda and participate in the election of the Committee Members. We need at least 20 parents to form a quorum.

If you would like more information about what is involved in being a Committee Member, please contact us. We like to have a mix of parents from all year groups, including year 1, to ensure good representation.

Please click here to download the nomination form.

Class Contacts

With the new school year, we need new Class Contacts for each class (two per class). Anyone is welcome to volunteer, whether you are a new parent or not. Class Contacts help act as a liaison between the PTA and the class parents. It is important to have class contacts for each class, so please offer to help if you can.

It will be difficult to coordinate events such as the very popular socials, family bingo, pie days, sausage sizzles, and also the school fair which is our biggest fundraiser event and a great day for parents and children alike. Your child’s class will miss out on these events if nobody steps forward.  We are still in need of Class Contacts for these classes:
