Clearwater Bay School is a four form entry school with a capacity for 720 students.

Clearwater Bay School is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School serving the Sai Kung, Clearwater Bay and Tseung Kwan O communities in the Eastern New Territories of Hong Kong. Through the IB Primary Years Programme, we offer a world class international primary education to students in years 1-6 that develops students’ creativity, confidence and willingness to achieve their personal best.

Mainscale Class Teacher (10 Aug 2018 to 28 Jun 2019)

Responsibilities
Main Accountabilities Teaching and Learning:
• Plan lessons and sequences of lessons to meet student’s individual learning needs and to ensure student’s progression.
• Use a range of appropriate strategies for teaching, learning and classroom management.
• Use flexible groupings and structured inquiry to deliver high quality lessons in line with the IBO philosophy.
• Maintain a well organised and stimulating learning environment.
• Use learning technologies such as the EWB and the school digital learning environment to enhance learning.
• Use information about prior attainment to set expectations for students.
• Use a range of assessment and reporting methods that show student’s achievement in relation to learning outcomes.
• Provide clear and constructive feedback to students and their parents/caregivers.

Wider professional roles:
• Plan and engage in professional learning activities that support school and systematic priorities.
• Taking responsibility for own professional development and use the outcomes to improve teaching and students’ learning.
• Make an active contribution to the policies and aspirations of the school.
• Ensure administration of classroom procedures are completed efficiently.
• Collaborate with members of the school community to build a team environment that supports students’ learning.

Additional responsibilities may include:
• Manage a year level or subject area.
• Assist with or manage an aspect of daily school management.
• Assist year level co-ordinators, curriculum co-ordinators, student management co-ordinators, principal and vice principal with the performance of specific functions.
• Assist with or manage a specialist function such as sport, careers, student welfare, excursions or camps co-ordination.
• Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular program.

Requirements
• Bachelor degree in Education or Bachelor degree in any subjects with PGCE (Post graduate Certificate in Education) or equivalent
• 2+ years teaching experience within a recognized educational organization is preferred.

Applicants must be a permanent Hong Kong resident or possess a valid visa to work in Hong Kong.

School Administrator & Admissions Officer

Responsibilities
We are seeking to appoint a School Administrator & Admissions Officer to join our administration team starting from 27 August 2018. The role involves undertaking a range of administrative activities to facilitate the smooth running of the school. A key responsibility is to assist the Office & Admissions Manager to manage all enrolments in an efficient and effective manner in accordance with ESF admissions policy

Admissions
• Assist the Office & Admissions Manager to liaise and communicate with parents and the school leadership team on student admissions, organise students’ interviews and maintain a student database.
• Undertake associated school administration including filing of students’ records.
• Receive & provide visitors with relevant information and assistance.

Events & Facilities
• Organise bookings for school trips/excursions, afterschool activities, functions and meetings.
• Assist on all school site and facilities related matters.

Communication
• Provides support with school communication to parents and the wider community.
• Compile & publish newsletters and assist in maintaining the school web site.

Requirements
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work with difficult people/ customers;
• Proficient IT skills with experience in using Word, Excel and other Microsoft applications.
• Bilingual in English and Chinese. High level oral and written communication skills in English, with fluency in Cantonese desirable.
• Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure.
• Reliability; initiative and problem-solving skills;
• Self-motivated and able to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Relevant experience in a complex customer service role with administrative support experience.

Educational Assistant

Responsibilities
The Clearwater Bay School is now looking for an Educational Assistant commencing 10 August 2018. Educational Assistants actively support students to access a balanced school curriculum. They work cohesively with professional teachers and liaise and communicate effectively with support staff.

Main Accountabilities:

Support for Learning and Teaching:
• Assist in the educational and social development of students
• Support students in mainstream classes including all academic and/or specialist subjects as required.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of Individual Education Programs for students and the monitoring of students’ academic progress
• Support students with emotional / behavioural problems and help develop their social skills / behaviours, including the implementation of behaviour modification programmes when required.
• Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom, including supporting access to camps, educational visits and whole school activities, to enable students to fully participate in activities
• Assist students with personal care needs e.g. toileting, changing clothes.

Administrative Duties
• Prepare and present displays of students’ work
• Undertake a range of tasks as required including: photocopying, collecting money, inputting student data, record keeping, collating and filing material.
• Undertake stocktaking, cataloguing, preparing, issuing and maintaining equipment and materials and ordering supplies and equipment.

Competencies
• Ability to build and maintain successful relationships with students, treating them with respect and consideration
• Sufficient knowledge, expertise and awareness of students’ social, emotional and learning needs to work effectively with teachers as part of a professional team
• Ability to work effectively with individual students, small group and whole classes under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher
• Tact, discretion, confidentiality and the willingness to work as a member of a team.
• Fluent in English

Requirements
• Relevant experiences in schools is preferred but not essential
• At least 2 years GCSE (pass A-C) or equivalent in Maths and English
