Amazing Rainforest fair

A huge thankyou to everyone who attended the fair this year – it was a great success! The PTA committee received many comments about what a lovely, close community we have at CWBS, something we should all be proud of.

The CWBS fair is a highlight of the year for many of our children, but it does need the help of the school community to run. Each year, it is becoming more and more difficult to enlist enough volunteers for the fair committee, so we will need to plan ahead if we are to hold a fair next year. Please do get in touch with the PTA if you think you may be able to join for 2020!

This year we would like to say a special thankyou to the following people for all their hard work behind the scenes:

Hollie Allman, Kerensa Heywood, Kate Baldwin, Julie Stockdale, Angela McGillivray, Rebecca O’Brien, Isabelle Tong and Kym Toller for all their preparation and planning. Natasha Pederson for her fabulous cake. Vanessa Doig and Ewlee Ng for the lovely notice boards. The white elephant team, the decoration team, Olivia Morley and her kids cafe team for their huge efforts. All the amazing class parents who worked tirelessly to make sure we had enough people to help with setup and manning class games, they were a big hit this year. The teachers BBQ organised by Mr Matt Dyer, Anna Kwok and Sarah Nicholson for preparations with the stage performances.

We would also like to thank all the vendors (logos displayed at the end of this newsletter) and everyone who donated items for the silent auction, toy shop & new goods, white elephant, book shop, Kids’ Cafe and Cookie/Cupcake Decoration.

The clean up operation after the fair has been vastly helped by Mr Man and his team, Kate Pang who has put us in contact with Redress Hong Kong, who will take our second hand clothing and KGV for taking the adult fiction books.

Final thanks to Renaissance College and Abacus Kindergarten, for loaning us equipment. Momentai staff for organising the bar licence and Greg Stockdale for working all afternoon in the bar, Thankyou.

This year the student council chose to donate 5% of the fair profits to WWF. The donation will be arranged as soon as the accounts are final.

Box of Hope

Every year students are invited to bring in a parcel for Box of Hope. Ms Jacki Craggs and her Year 5 students are running the show, thank you Year 5 for your help and enthusiasm.  If you would like to make up a box please bring it in before the 19th of November as the boxes will be collected then.

Box of Hope will collect all the boxes from CWBS on 19th November at 9am.  Any boxes dropped off after the collection will be returned to students.

All the information you need to prepare a box is included on the stickers but you can also check out their website at http://boxofhope.org/home/main/en/

Tuesday 10th December 2019

This is a great opportunity for parents to show their appreciation and thanks to the teaching, admin and cleaning staff for all their hard work. There are about 100 people on staff to provide for and we are grateful for everyone’s help on this! A more detailed email about this will be sent out by your class contacts shortly.  Should you wish to donate, please check with your class contact or register on the spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RbGZ8v_d0o2-elkozLhfPQ-7vxpvzpbR0HF9FOXn_xM/edit?usp=sharing
