Year 1 Students Learning in School
It has been a pleasure to welcome our newly enrolled year 1 students this week. The children have come into school with confidence and excitement. Teachers have been impressed by the way they have played together, and also by their impressive hand washing skills! It has been lovely to see connections forming as the classes have come together for the first time. Thank you to Y1 parents for the strong support you have provided over the distance learning period.
Return to School for Y2-6 Students
We are looking forward to welcoming our Y2-Y6 students back into school next week. The first learning day for Y2,4 and 6 students will be Wednesday 23 September. Y3 and Y5 students will have their first day on Thursday 24 September, along with Y1 students. Please see linked here an updated Return to School plan with further detail to help students and families prepare for the return.

We look forward to receiving your submissions for the poster competition.
Distance Learning – Parent Survey – Closing Monday 21 September
At CWBS this term we have aimed to develop our distance learning provision. We also know that parents have never been closer to learning than over the last six months, and have valuable insights into your child’s learning.
Please take a few minutes to answer the short survey linked here. Your feedback in this survey will help us to learn from this distance learning period and ensure that we can do the best for our students in the future.
Thank you in advance for completing this survey. As ever, should you wish to offer feedback via email, please contact either myself or your child’s phase Vice Principal. The survey will close for responses on Monday 21 September at 9am.
ESF Relief Grant
A reminder the registration for the 45% relief grant is now available through the ESF App. Registrations close on 22 September.
Families are able to ‘opt-in’ to receive a grant, which is calculated as 45% of one month’s tuition. The attached instructions provide a simple guide to complete the application process using the ESF app. Please contact matt.dyer@cwbs.edu.hk if you have any questions about the grant or the application process.

A reminder that the central admissions process for application to ESF schools for a Y1 place are open until 30th September 2020.
All applications should be made following the ESF application process which is detailed on the ESF website.

Please be advised any applications submitted after the above mentioned deadline will automatically be placed at the end of the waiting list.
PYP – Agency
As a school we have a shared understanding of agency. The relationship between teacher and students becomes a partnership. We encourage students to take initiatives, express interest, wonderings, make choices and are aware of their learning goals. Providing feedback to each other, actively engage and monitor and adjust their learning as needed. As teachers we recognise students capabilities, we listen, respect and respond to their ideas.
Thank you as ever for your continued support. We look forward to connecting with more students and families again next week. In the meantime, have a lovely weekend.
