Clearwater Bay School is a four form entry school with a capacity for 720 students.

Clearwater Bay School is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School serving the Sai Kung, Clearwater Bay and Tseung Kwan O communities in the Eastern New Territories of Hong Kong. Through the IB Primary Years Programme, we offer a world class international primary education to students in years 1-6 that develops students’ creativity, confidence and willingness to achieve their personal best.

Educational Assistant - Chinese

Responsibilities
Clearwater Bay School is now looking for a Full Time Educational Assistant for its Mandarin Department.

The nature of the role will generally involve the assistant working with children in learning activities under the supervision of the Mandarin teacher to whom they are assigned. Preparation of materials is also an aspect of the role, as is the supervision of children at break times, if appropriate.

Requirements
The successful applicant should have an excellent command of English and Mandarin. Previous experience working with children will be advantageous.

Applicants must be a permanent Hong Kong resident or possess a valid visa to work in Hong Kong.

Educational Assistant, Part-time

Responsibilities
Clearwater Bay School is seeking to appoint a Educational Assistant, Part-time for 13 hours per week. Educational Assistants actively support students to access a balanced school curriculum. They work cohesively with professional teachers and liaise and communicate effectively with support staff.

Main Accountabilities:

Support for Learning and Teaching:
• Assist in the educational and social development of students
• Support students in mainstream classes including all academic and/or specialist subjects as required.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of Individual Education Programs for students and the monitoring of students’ academic progress
• Support students with emotional / behavioural problems and help develop their social skills / behaviours, including the implementation of behaviour modification programmes when required.
• Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom, including supporting access to camps, educational visits and whole school activities, to enable students to fully participate in activities
• Assist students with personal care needs e.g. toileting, changing clothes.

Administrative Duties
• Prepare and present displays of students’ work
• Undertake a range of tasks as required including: photocopying, collecting money, inputting student data, record keeping, collating and filing material.
• Undertake stocktaking, cataloguing, preparing, issuing and maintaining equipment and materials and ordering supplies and equipment.

Competencies
• Ability to build and maintain successful relationships with students, treating them with respect and consideration
• Sufficient knowledge, expertise and awareness of students’ social, emotional and learning needs to work effectively with teachers as part of a professional team
• Ability to work effectively with individual students, small group and whole classes under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher
• Tact, discretion, confidentiality and the willingness to work as a member of a team.
• Fluent in English

Requirements
• Relevant experiences in schools is preferred but not essential
• A least 2 years GCSE (pass A-C) or equivalent in Maths and English

School Nurse

Responsibilities
We wish to appoint an experienced and registered nurse to join our team of teachers and support staff. The School nurse is responsible for first aid and emergency care for students, staff and visitors to the school. This includes ensuring the smooth operation of the medical room and the provision of immediate, professional medical care and support. Additionally she/he will liaise, advise and support students, staff and parents as well as coordinate with relevant outside agencies. Ideally the applicant will have previous experience working with children in an educational setting.

Main Accountabilities:
• Lead and manage First aid and emergency care for students and staff at school.
• Provide leadership in all medically related areas, including Health & safety.
• Liaise with, advise and support students, staff and parents in health related matters.
• Oversee and manage all student medical and health records on the ESF Parent Gateway
• Coordinate relevant outside agencies

Competencies required:
• Good oral and written communication skills in English, with Cantonese also desireable
• High level interpersonal skills with the ability to work with children and adults;
• Good IT skills including word processing, database and spreadsheets;
• Student focused, caring and patient in any medical or emergency situation that may arise
• Good organizational skills, initiative and problem-solving skills.

Requirements
• Licensed or a registered nurse in Hong Kong with a minimum of 5 years nursing experience in hospital, clinic or education environment, including treating children. (Registered overseas will be considered as a School Health Professional).
• First Aid & CPR certificates.
