PTA Update for Term 2
Welcome back and a happy new year to everyone. As per usual, the PTA will be closed on Wednesdays in terms 2 and 3. Office hours on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are 8am – 2:45pm.
We are running a social for Year 3 & 4 students on Friday 17th January. The students will have pizza in the undercover area followed by a show from Active Kids in the school hall. Please register your child before sending in payment. Click here for the registration link.
On 14th February, we will be holding a Pie Day. The registration link will be sent out at the beginning of February so please look out for it. Pies must be ordered and paid for no later than 2pm on Monday 10th February, as we have to confirm the order with Tai Tai Pies by the end of the school day.
Registration links for all PTA events are posted on the PTA’s Facebook group as well in our newsletters. If you would like to join the group, search for Clearwater Bay PTA and request to join. You will be asked a couple of questions so that we can ensure only CWBS parents are added.
Lost property is already piling up. More and more we are finding unlabelled water bottles, food containers and clothing. We cannot return items to students if they are not labelled so please review your child’s uniform and anything else they bring to school and label with their name and class.
The PTA sells laundry marker pens and these are by far the easiest was to label clothing. If you want to buy labels, there are a number of companies operating in Hong Kong and locally, there is a company called Very Very Sticky, selling all types of labels – https://veryverysticky.com/.
Sorting and returning lost property is a never ending job so help from parents is always appreciated. If you can spare half an hour, please drop in. The lost property needs sorting every week.
Amazing Rainforest Fair
The accounts have almost been finalised and we have a profit of at least $160,000 and just a couple more outstanding invoices to chase up! The unexpected school closure last term meant that we didn’t get round to sorting out prizes for classes which made the biggest effort overall.
We are delighted to announce the winners:
1R for the fabulous Kids’ Cafe
3M for the awesome golf game
6H for the spectacular spin the wheel game
Students from these classes will have cupcakes at either morning break or lunch time today.
Staff Lunch
The staff appreciation lunch held at the end of last term was a great success, with a wonderful selection of dishes.Thank you to Rachel Ip and her team for organising the lunch and thank you to everyone who contributed.
There are a number of dishes and containers in the PTA office awaiting collection. Please remember to pick yours up!
Used School Uniforms
If you are looking for school uniforms, look no further than the PTA. We have plenty of stock for this coming winter all reduced to $20. School bags have been reduced to $50 (brand new).
Please come in between 8am – 2:45pm.
We welcome any donations of clean and fair condition uniforms, particularly fleeces.

17th January, 6:00 – 7:30pm – Year 3 & 4 social with pizza and entertainment
22nd January, 6:30pm – Creating an environment for your child to thrive by Hiren Khemlani, performance psychologist – parent talk at KGV, see advert below for details and registration.
24th January – 2nd February – school closed for CNY/Half-term holiday
14th February – Pie Day
